Take away the familiarity and I have trouble thinking of many Garden attractions in this country that can compare to Callaway Gardens for beauty and variety of activities. I personally believe we here in GA are very fortunate to have what I see as a Gardens that compare to most of the best around the world. This topic has been closed to new posts due to inactivity. Oct 16, Appropriate trip for elderly parents? See All Pine Mountain Conversations. In the past my wife and I have always purchased an annual pass, seeing this as good value as we typically visit the Gardens several times a year -- enjoying it in the different seasons. However the admission prices that have been effect for a year or so now make it hard to evaluate the "value proposition" of an annual pass.

But then it gets confusing. Admission during January and Februrary is free. Certainly no point in buying an annual pass during those months.

Then for "special events" -- spring festival, Fourth of July, Labor Day balloon race, etc. It seems to me that those of us who might buy annual passes, instead of being treated as loyal customers, are actually kind of getting soaked -- at least in a couple of ways. First we're subsidizing those daily visitors that pay nothing during January and February. Then still having to pay a daily admission during the "special events" is just insulting -- and kind of greedy on the part of Callaway Gardens.

I suppose it all depends on how often you go, but I've almost come to the conclusion that my wife and I won't get a good value by re-upping our passes and should pay the regular admission. Other opinions and perspectives welcome. We have always just paid the one day admission price during the Festival of Lights, in the spring when flowers are blooming and once during the summer.

My wife and I have been going to Callaway Gardens since we were children and wanted our grandchildren to experience the gardens as we did. We thought the Annual Pass would be the way to go. Not so. Any way you work it there is no savings to the customer. We will not be purchasing an Annual Pass. I don't understand all the outrage. Do the math.

If it works in your favor, get the annual pass. If it doesn't, don't. This topic has been closed to new posts due to inactivity.
